How does Children's Online Consultation work?
This service offers parents or guardians quick access to discuss their child’s concerns over video consultation. Our experienced GPs can offer professional medical advice for a wide range of issues, including common childhood illnesses, rashes, minor injuries, allergies, feeding concerns, and developmental queries.
Considering the remote nature of the consultations, following the history you may be offered a treatment or signposting for a physical assessment if deemed necessary by the GP.

We endeavour to help with most types of medical queries, but we do have some limitations due to our licencing requirements (see non-exhaustive list below)
1. Paediatric Emergency Care – Immediate treatment for emergencies like seizures, trauma or severe infections requiring in-patient care.
2. Paediatric Conditions requiring physical examination – For safety reasons any child deemed to have a presentation requiring in-person, physical assessment will be signposted by our GPs to the appropriate service.
3. Controlled Drugs/Specialist medications – Any requests for specialist initiated medications, Controlled Drugs, Opiate-based medications, Benzodiazepines, Immunosuppressants or treatments for ADHD are not authorised by our service. See list of controlled drugs via GOV UK website
4. Dental Issues – We are not licensed to diagnose or treat any dental issues. For urgent detail issues please either call your dentist or 111 out of hours – see NHS advice
5. Patients physically located outside the UK – We are able to see both UK and foreign nationals. However patients are required to be located in the UK when undertaking their video consultation.
If you have any queries, you can always discuss them with one of our dedicated admin staff
The NHS also gives good advice on their website to decide if you should attend A&E
