If you're contemplating a cruise journey you might need a medical certificate asserting your fitness for travel. Our physicians can supply a medical certificate on the very same day, verifying your robust health and absence of any conditions that might hinder your journey.


How It Works

At Dr.Online, we aim to make the process of obtaining a Medical letter as straightforward and convenient as possible. Here’s how it works:
  1. Select your letter: Select the letter your require, add to cart & make payment.
  2. Fill in the questionnaire & upload your evidence: Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a questionnaire via email. You will need to provide your name, date of birth, email address, details of your medical issue and a photo ID.
  3. Attend the video consultation: Attend the video consultation at your selected time to discuss your medical issue and condition with one of our GPs.
  4. Receive your letter: At Dr.Online, we will provide you with a letter following discussion with one of our doctors. This will verify your ailment and symptoms, denote whether your condition is persistent and specify any reasons for absence, recommendations or mitigating circumstances.

What will I need to supply?

To allow us to assess your condition and issue a medical certificate, we will require the following information:
  • Photo ID
  • Completed questionnaire
  • Your digital summary care record
  • Name of your air or cruise line
  • Details of your regular GP (if you have one)
Should the refund or cancellation policy of your cruise provider permit, you might have the opportunity to provide evidence of being unfit to cruise. This could enable you to reschedule your journey or cancel it altogether.
At Dr.Online, our online doctors are equipped to assess whether you’re medically cleared for cruise travel and can issue certificates detailing if you’re no longer medically approved for a cruise.
If you require any additional forms to be completed after we have confirmed your fitness to cruise, this can be undertaken for an additional payment of £25.
Once you have sent us your pre-filled additional forms, our doctors can review, sign and stamp them prior to sending them back to you.

FAQs regarding this service

To schedule a GP Consultation, select a suitable appointment slot from the available options in the calendar. You can also view the profiles of our online doctors to choose the one who best fits your needs. The Online GP will consult you by Video call.

You will be able to discuss your needs with one of an online doctor over the video link on your device/computer. If necessary you can send pictures e.g. of a skin rash to the doctor via our online platform. You will be able to arrange a treatment plan with the doctor for ongoing treatment. 

As it is a remote consultation there are certain conditions which are more difficult to treat. These include consultations where the GP would need to perform an examination of you of some type. Also emergency conditions such as stroke, heart attacks etc cannot be managed and you should contact 111/999 immediately to get help. See guidance from the NHS re urgent and emergency care

Yes, the online GP may arrange any of a number of tests for you depending on your needs. These may include blood/urine tests or swabs or various scans eg Xray/ultrasound/ CT/MRI. If a referral to specialist is required this letter will be sent to you via e-mail. After your consultation a member of our concierge service will contact you to discuss these with you. They will arrange a suitable date/time for you and explain how and where they will be completed. 

Yes, if your online GP determines you need a prescription they can send it to you electronically via a code from our partner Signature Rx. You can take this code to redeems your script from most leading high street pharmacies

Absolutely, if your online doctor recommends a follow-up consultation to monitor your progress or adjust your treatment plan, they will ask our concierge team to arrange this directly with you. If you require review between these times, please either book via the appropriate service page or contact the admin team 

 You also have the option to choose your preferred clinician when booking

In case of technical issues our support team is available to assist you. You can message via the Chat button or call. We recommend you test your internet connection prior to your scheduled appointment.

We offer secure online payment options through our platform. This will be prompted when you book your preferred appointment date and time.

You will be asked if you would like the details of your consultation and any prescriptions/ test results etc to go to your GP surgery. You are not required to consent to this, however it is best practice for this information to be shared so your surgery are aware of any medical conditions/ treatments etc that you have had done.
