 About this service

Here at DrOnline, we are pleased to offer our new coaching appointments, these are run by Dr Caldwell who is a GP with a specialist interest in mental health (see link to her bio on our website) and lifestyle-based medicine. We want to expand our offerings alongside traditional clinical mental health reviews, to help boost patients mental and physical wellness.

Coaching is designed to provide guidance, motivation, and tools to overcome challenges, cultivate new thinking, and ignite fresh ideas. Unlike therapy, our approach focuses on enhancing your strengths, building resilience, and fostering personal growth. Through one-on-one sessions, you will work together to identify the underlying causes of your low moods or subclinical anxiety, exploring practical strategies to manage them effectively without medication. Whether it’s setting achievable goals, challenging limiting beliefs, or developing healthy habits, coaching will empower you to take charge of your life and create meaningful change.

Appointment lengths are 1 x 45-minute introduction sessions, then 30-minute follow-up appointments. We suggest completing three sessions, but this will vary depending on the patient and the reason for coaching.

“Coaching has great potential in the world of mental health”

'Wellness coaching' can be defined as the application of life-coaching principles to health and wellbeing. The coach uses skilful communication to support the coachee to make life changes through working towards their personal goals. It is grounded in the principle that the coachee has the knowledge and capacity required to make the desired changes, and that the coach's job is not to come up with solution but to support the client to find their own way and tap into their existing strengths and abilities. Thus, it is an enabling and empowering mode of support.

“Invest in your employees’ well-being, invest in your organisation’s success.”

96% of participants reported an improvement in their general sense of well-being based on the changes made during the program, highlighting the effectiveness of coaching in enhancing psychological well-being in a practical and cost-effective manner.
